Our Mission

Heartwork

Often, we tend to shy away from conversations that scare us.

As humans, we are programmed to either run away from or fight against thoughts or feelings that don’t echo our own. But what if we could re-wire our brains to replace that basic survival instinct with compassion? What if we could unite on our similarities and celebrate our differences?

Ganesh creates safe spaces for challenging conversations around our wellbeing. Grounded in yoga and meditation, we make wellness inclusive and accessible by transforming embodied bias into feelings of worthiness.

We at Ganesh believe that the practice of holding space for opinions that conflict with or confront your own is an extraordinary act of kindness and courage. And that it is a practice.

We hold space to elevate marginalized voices, shatter harmful societal narratives and provide a platform for everyone to be heard. We believe that equity can only be achieved together so we empower our community with the tools to create safe spaces not only for themselves — but to share with the rest of the world.

Our mission is big but simple: To break down barriers within ourselves and between each other to create a more enlightening and compassionate future for all of us.

Ganesh was founded by Kim Thai (middle in YAS QUEEN tank), an Emmy-award winning producer and seasoned digital strategist —with almost 15 years of multi-platform storytelling experience. She is a yoga teacher, longtime meditator and a queer, Asian woman whose life and perspective have radically been empowered by yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic practices. She started Ganesh because she wants to create a world where everyone feels like they belong.

Why Ganesh?

remover of obstacles

In yogic philosophy, the playful deity Ganesh is most famously known as the remover of obstacles. Our core mission is to create safe space where we can remove barriers within ourselves and in our interaction with others.

Our intention always is to embody Ganesh’s values in our company ethos and mission — and inspire others to do the same.

Love and justice are not two. Without inner change, there can be no outer change; without collective change, no change matters.
